Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo): Mrs Bennett
Our SENDCo is a qualified teacher, who has completed postgraduate studies in special educational needs; in collaboration with the head teacher and governing body she takes day-to-day responsibility for the provision made in school for children with special educational needs.
Her role in school is to support and work with:
Teachers – liaising and advising fellow teachers
Parents/ carers – liaising with parents/ carers regularly to ensure you know the level of support your child is receiving, and also ensuring you can share what you think is important for your child.
Children – ensuring the child has a voice in how they want to be best supported in school, considering what’s working for them and what’s not working for them.
With all stakeholders collaboratively working together help to ensure that pupils with special educational needs get the right support and help they need at school.
