The Arts

Where we inspire individual creativity and develop analytical minds.
Led by Miss Anderson (Art & Design) and Mrs Leach (Design & Technology)

Art & Design

Art at St Dunstan’s is a fun way to encourage creativity, confidence and a sense of individual identity. With our rich curriculum, we research a diverse range of artists, designers and craftsmen, from whom we can develop ideas and invent our own styles.

The staff are dedicated to developing children’s motor, language, social and problem-solving skills through risk-taking and exploration. With experimentation of a range of art forms and guided perseverance, the children at St Dunstan’s are all given the opportunity to be successful artists.

Design & Technology

Design Technology at St Dunstan’s develops children's skills and knowledge in design, structures, mechanisms, electrical control and a range of materials, including food. It encourages children's creativity. It develops their analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of a product to create a quality product for an end user. It also helps them to think about important issues and how Design and Technology impacts on them in their own lives.
