Welcome to St Dunstan's Catholic School

My name is Mr Tehan and I am very proud to be the new Headteacher of St Dunstan’s Catholic Primary School. Although I only started this role in November, I’ve had a long and happy association with the school, as it was St Dunstan's Catholic School we chose for our own children, and I want all of the pupils in our school community, to be as happy here as our children were!  Every day we are encouraged  to live our mission statement: as we grow with God, we learn from each other.

I am delighted to welcome you to our school website, I hope you find it informative. We are a two form entry faith school in the heart of Kings Heath, that holds the gospel values, at the centre of all it does.  We have high expectations and aspirations, for all of our pupils and our behaviour is excellent. The successes we celebrate, are down to the hard work, care and determination of our wonderful teaching and support staff and the close partnership between our parents and the school.
In September, we launched a well-planned and sequenced curriculum which is working really well. Please do look at the curriculum section of the website to find out more.

We also pride ourselves on our pastoral work. Although safeguarding at St Dunstan’s is everyone’s responsibility, we also have specialist staff who are dedicated to keeping your children safe and helping families when they may be in need.
                                                                                                                   Mr M J Tehan

Vision Statement

We are very ambitious in hoping for the very best for our children.
Our vision’s main aim will always be for our children to grow into ‘lifelong learners’.

Our Teachers:
  • Our teachers will inspire and challenge all who work within our school, nurturing confidence in the children to continue a lifelong journey of learning.
Our Children:
  • Our children will be confident, fair, tolerant and caring and will persevere when challenged on their lifelong learning journey.
Our Home:
  • Our homes will be environments where learning is valued and family’s work together to motivate and inspire one another to learn throughout their lives.
Our Parish:
  • The relationship between our parish and school community continues to thrive so we can all grow in our lifelong journey of faith.
